I offer one-on-one tutoring with prescriptive phonics-based instruction designed to help your child succeed in reading. I hand-craft individualized curriculum for your student, to ensure my services fit each student's unique needs. I specialize in kindergarten through fifth grade. I can tutor in your home, in my home, or in a local library. Services offered in Vancouver, Camas, Washougal, Battle Ground, and Ridgefield, Washington.
About Me
I have a current K-8 Washington State professional teaching certificate and a Master's Degree in Teaching. I have taught in the classroom for 8 years, and currently I am a reading specialist at a private elementary and middle school in Vancouver, Washington. I have two years of experience remediating reading disabilities, and helping children who suffer from low self-esteem because of their reading challenges. I am trained in and use the Orton-Gillingham method. I love my work and nothing makes me happier than seeing a smile on a child's face when it "clicks."
