About Me

My name is Elizabeth Litsey. I have a current K-8 Washington State professional teaching certificate and a Master's Degree in Teaching. I taught in the classroom (as a classroom teacher) for 8 years, and currently I am an Orton-Gillingham certified reading specialist. I was the reading specialist at a private school in Vancouver for five years, until I recently decided to expand my private tutoring business to full time. I have six years of experience remediating reading disabilities including Dyslexia, and helping children who suffer from low self-esteem because of their reading challenges. I use the multi-sensory, structured literacy approach also known as Orton-Gillingham. I love my work and nothing makes me happier than seeing a smile on a child's face when it "clicks."
